I think a good place to start would be to write letters to your local MP, President/Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, the UN Secretary, Military Junta in Burma and possibly the Chinese and Indian governments to protest the way Aung San Suu Kyi has been treated.

Here is one woman who is trying to do her bit but the government is determined to exclude her, despite her winning the election.

Ha, all these big butch Army men scared of one woman. Pathetic.

I will agree that women must be empowered at an early age to participate in socio political and economic activities. This is one way for them to determine the direction that they would like their societies to take.

I would however like to say that we must begin to change our attitudes. Traditions and previous societies have specific demarcations of the roles of men and women in society. Men are regarded as the bread winners. They must always be strong and their opinion is more or less the final word.
Women should be submissive servants and peace makers. These roles may or may not change with the times. In today's economy, one cannot afford to have a member of the family who is unable to assist is the economics of the family. This has made some men resentful feeling that their masculinity is in challenge, and some women overconfident to the point of boasting. Hence the increase in gender based violence, rape and oter henious crimes.

This must change. Masculinity must be be defined to allow men to keep their sense of importance while allowing them to open up their minds towards what a woman can do. This means that when we are educating women to arise, we must also educate their husbands, fathers, brothers and sons on the meaning, and what it potends for the society.

A society without women is unworkable, but so is a society without men.

INDEED! I can see my wife a place in this Universal Unitement before I !
But that's what all would have to understand! A Woman is usually less agressive. I Love that! But, only 1 question, Would a woman let the empowerment go to their head as easily as any male? Dates back to Cleopatra, and many an English Queen shocked.
Yes Equal is Equal, but understanding LOVE as a Universal language must be primary in their nature!

Just because women are finally empowered and achieve equality will not make them saints. We are subject to the same foibles as men. Well, perhaps we are not so war like, although having seen Jerry Springer and Jeremy Kyle I am not so sure.

it is time, in the 11th hour
Mothers understand the power they have to save our world

Women, who raise their childern to love and learn

it is time for our whispers to be heard

I invite everyone to read a story for free

in hopes it will encourage the understanding we need as mothers, sisters, wifes, and Humans

I send it with love to help save the world.

and enourage Women to take a LEAD role

I’ve been getting involved in a little conversation over at the ActionAid UK news blog on democracy and international development and I’d love a few more people to join the discussion.

It really gets to the heart of the issue of how we bring together empowerment and participation to bring about more accountable government.

No thought is too small!

Women have to fight for their equality on their own . In India Parlaimentarians have been avoiding sine last several years to even give 33 % representation in Parliament . So womem must rise and fight for their equal rights ,else men will never let them in .

Awareness of respect for women is another issue that needs to be addressed. Women makes future citizens.Women role in shaping better citizens is undebatable, so they ned special care and respect .

I am not sure what is meant by Fighting for your rights, because I believe the pen is mighter then the sword

But I do agree, that the word Mother
is used as negative more often then not

When the wrote the Witches Hammer
It was a book they used in What I call the Heart of MidEvil time

To Kill any mother, that taught
Her Husband or Childern to READ

Reading, or course being the first Rule of MAGIC, in the old Codex

But that was because they had wanted to subject the whole world

And it you silence the mothers, you have just about done that. They are the Heart of the Issue

Can YOU imagin, what would happen
If only 23% of all the Bright MINDS of motherhood has encourged, it they got Organized, and came up with a plan
To Help Questions those who wish to Rule

Well I think a NEW Witches hammer would written!!

Now I am not a Witch,
I do not believe in HOAX POAX
But I believe, Life is not just a RANDOM thing

At least minge isnt!!
( ignore poor hummmer), and spelling please

Now you see if I were a Witch, Surely I would now how to write, spells,
It is a fasnating history to read about
If any lady's are interested.
Lots on it at librarys.

I would love to see Women and Childern
Come to the forground, Not we are in a time when the World is in Change, Even with out our making the Living Planet a Pig Sty, you should see her from space
It is so sad

But Yes, I aggree,
Except with NO VIOLENCE,
Childern should be involved
they DREAM best, and it is their world

Fight for our rights? Why is it that we always have to fight for everything that we want but the men get it delivered on a silver platter, and fed with a silver spoon?

There is a need for change of attitude. serious and decisive change of attitude and the time is now.

I agree that nothing good comes easy, but if society is not ready or willing to work with us then all with be for naught. while we are 'fighting' for our rights, society must be ready to give us a chance at it.

This is a wonder post
I truley agree

It is time we Gather our minds
Ideas, and bring them forward
to a place where they can be
of Good use

The quote of Mother Earth Is one I love
and the one that says
the pen is mighter then the sword

I feel I must agree
the time to get our Voices heard
is Now

to the future
Love
E
