We should not forget in a hurry is that women are also humans as men. They have 15 Billion cells in the brain as men, they have human anatomy and can only be discriminated here on the ground of temperament which should be seen as a minor attribute for Leadership Qualification.
One of the oddity of the 21st Century ios that a lot of men ddo believe that women should be offer a 2nd class position in all thing. I strongly believe this is quite erroneous in both thinking and practise.Women have the capacity to perform even better than men in most cases. Take a look at Liberia which was war prone under the leadership of men. Today virtually all its sectors have experienced an unpresented turn-arounds for good since the inception of Mrs.Sileaf Johnson as the President of the Country.

It is amazing how women are more than men in most political forums. However, when it come to voting women turn not to vote fellow women. This concerns me as despite some of the political efforts done by some countries to empower and encourage women to participate in politics they also contribute to failure of efforts made. Can anyone try to help me out here!

A problem that women have is that they are often more likeley to argue from an emotional point of view and this is often attacked by men as being irrational . Men need to be more empathetic to the way in which many women think

I believe that indeed women empowerment involves youth and particularly men. If men are excluded in women issues there will want to protect their status in the society as only leaders. They would feel threatened by women wanting to displace them, this is currently happening. There are still a lot of men who are law makers and some of them think that women involvement in politics is craziness as a woman's place is in the kitchen and child keeping.

Assuring women participation in politics is a grave issue, especially in developing countries. Giving them seats could be a positive step but one cannot expect strong leadership qualities from a leader who has been elected just because there was a seat rserved for only women.. I think this whole process of women empowerment will take a long time. So, we need to have patience and continue our efforts.
In Nepal, women's paticipation in politics has dramatically increased after the long period of political conflict we went through. We today have some very promising women student leaders like Ram Kumari Jhankri..

i do believe that involving these women at a tender age wolud be helpfulll as you are saying but we should not forget that politics starts even in "homes" so even the women who are old but are married should be even involved in "trainings " that will help them know ther rights and how to stand on thier own.

I think that women should be encouraged to become involved in decision-making at all ages. Having a balanced mind-set where global management is concerned is vital in today's environment. It is an antique mentality which thinks that weapons and war are answers rather than being the causes of much international problems. It is time for the structuring of a better and stronger representation of world affairs which must include the initiative sources of women.
Sincerely,
Maryam Ruhullah

Call me a mysoginistic bastard, but IMHO, young females are far too erratic and hormonal to be involved in things as important as politics. The purpose of the woman from the dawn of man, has been to raise children and produce for the man.
Leave politics to the menopausal hags like Helen Clark and Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir.

Woman and politics are something in common. The reason is that woman, always find solutions with everything in a political way. Woman are the only way to solve an intense global problems than men.

Woman are the most important members in the society. They have the power to rule the brains of the community. They can brain wash man easily so they reach to their goals in a very tactical and political way. That's what we are. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Best Regards,

Hi,
the topic is so wonderful and i must commend you for it. the other question is how do we empower women when most of the steriotypic belifs are been let go? in my little village in Nigeria (benue state in particular) we the concerned youths have been carrying out advocacy for quite a long time now; 9 years to be presise to no avail.
for us to empower women effectively, there is every need for us to take into consideration the issue of changing the world view of some of leaders on the steriotypic roles of women.

I totally agree with you. Women need to train and practice to take decisions and responsibility in all ages and all cultures.

in some countries they still don't accept empowering women in Politics...
but lets think of it.. empowering women in politics will bring many benefits to the community.. because both men and woman have different thoughts.. if we only focus on men's thoughts then we are looking to the world from one side..
encouraging her by first let people accept her being a political woman.. if she is not accepted as that.. then she will be far away from it..
